Love it or hate it. The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) has arrived, with its' full impact to be felt come January 1, 2014.
Millions of Americans across the country have already received notices from their insurance companies that their current policies will terminate on December 31, 2013.
They are now faced with a daunting task: managing their own healthcare from A-Z and choosing
Glitches in both the federal and state Obamacare marketplaces have occurred, leaving many worried and unsure of whether or not their new plans will be as good as the old ones, and whether the rates will truly be affordable.
Early feedback from states such as California, which has a website that is fully functional, is that rates have increased for millions of people. In addition, "exposure" has increased, meaning most plans have increased co-pays, deductibles, and maximum out-of-pocket costs.
